A high-aspect, high-speed stabilizer designed alongside Unifoil's new generation of performance front wings.

The Quantum is the top of the Unifoil tail lineup. It was designed for the Quest and the Aggression — Unifoil's fastest, highest-performance front wings — to give them a tail that can keep up with what they're capable of. The same design that makes those new wings work also levels up the rest of the lineup: pair the Quantum with a Progression or an Evolution and the wing gets faster, glides farther, and surfs with more authority through the pocket. This is the tail you reach for when you want the foil to be the best version of itself.

More speed, more glide, better surfing.

The Quantum runs a higher aspect ratio and a thinner, faster section than anything else in the Unifoil tail range. Less drag at the back of the foil means the whole platform runs faster and stays on foil with less effort — pumps carry farther, glides between sections stretch out, and the top end of every front wing opens up.

Where the Quantum separates itself from a typical "fast tail" is what it does in the surf. The high-aspect planform gives the tail genuine lift efficiency rather than just low drag, which keeps foot pressure clean and predictable as you load the wing through a carve. The foil tracks where you point it, the nose stays where you put it, and the rail-to-rail transitions feel locked-in rather than skatey. Faster, but not at the cost of control — actually with more of it.

The Quantum was designed alongside the Quest and the Aggression — Unifoil's new generation of high-performance, high-speed front wings — and behind those wings it's the tail that lets the design fully express itself. The Quest gets the matched high-aspect, high-speed tail it was built to run with. The Aggression gets a stabilizer fast enough to keep up with its top end while holding the line through committed carves.

Behind the Progression and Evolution series, the Quantum works as an upgrade path. Put it behind a Progression and the wing picks up real top-end speed and glide without losing its forgiving turn character. Put it behind an Evolution and you unlock the full range of the wing — the glide, the efficiency, and the speed it was designed to deliver.

Built for performance across every discipline:

Surf and prone foiling — Faster pumps back out, more glide between sets, and a tail that holds its line as you commit to the rail. Run the 14 when you want the foil loose and quick edge-to-edge, the 16 when you want to drive harder through the carve. The 14 also opens up an unexpected combination behind the big Evolutions on the super short fuse — a glidey, surf-oriented platform with top-end speed that punches well above the wing's size.

Downwind — Lower drag and higher efficiency mean less energy spent maintaining flight and more energy available for linking bumps. The 16 is the better DW pick when bumps are slow or spaced out — the extra low-end keeps you on foil through the gaps. The 14 shines on fast, well-formed DW where top-end and easy edge-to-edge matter more than holding flight.

Parawing, wing, and tow — The speed advantage shows up immediately at the top end. The Quantum lets bigger front wings run faster than they were ever meant to, which is exactly what you want when conditions open up. For light-wind parawing or winging where staying on foil is the harder problem, the 16 adds enough low-end lift to make marginal sessions ridable.

Pump foiling — Less drag at the tail is the cheapest performance gain available in pump efficiency. The Quantum stretches every pump and lowers the cardio cost of staying on foil.

Who's it for.

The Quantum is for riders who already know their setup and want to push it further. If you're upgrading from the Afterburner or Progression tail and looking for more speed, more glide, and a top-end ceiling that matches a higher-level front wing, this is the tail. Beginners are better served by the Progression tail's softer, more forgiving feel — the Quantum rewards riders who can take advantage of what it gives them.

The looser, faster option.

Quantum 14"

Easy roll, quick edge-to-edge, and the highest top-end speed in the lineup. This is the tail to run when you want the foil to feel alive and responsive under your feet, and it's also the right call when you want to transform a big front wing into something surfy and quick — paired with the Evolution 205 or 235 on the super short fuse, the 14 unloads drag and tightens the platform into one of the most glidey, surf-oriented big-wing setups Unifoil makes.

Quantum 14" Tail

More drive, more lock-in.

Quantum 16"

More drive, more lock-in, more low-end lift. The 16 carries more span and more tail authority, which translates to a foil that holds a line through a turn rather than skating across it — the tail to reach for when you want to lean into the rail and feel the wing drive through the carve. The extra low-end also makes it the better choice for slow downwinders, light-wind parawing, and lower-end winging sessions where the tail itself needs to contribute lift to keep you flying.
