Hard outside. Strong inside.
Forged Like a Blade
Inspired by traditional Japanese swordmaking — stiff high-modulus carbon on the outside, intermediate-modulus carbon on the inside. The combination delivered a mast that was faster than pure stiffness and stronger than pure speed. A higher breaking point than high-modulus alone, without giving up performance.
Zero play. Total connection.
Taper-Lock Construction
The Katana's taper-lock mast-to-fuselage connection held the mast in place mechanically — not just relying on screws to take the load. No play, no rattle, no energy lost. Slotted holes with countersunk titanium hardware for clean fitment and optional wingnuts for quick adjustments on the beach.
Thicker profile. Less twist. More control.
Stiffness You Could Feel
The Katana's slightly thicker chord and profile virtually eliminated twist and flex under hard carving and big-wing loads. Every input went straight to the foil — direct, honest, no delay. One-piece construction meant no joints, no weak points, and a consistent feel from base plate to fuselage.
