Inspired by Japanese swordmaking. The strongest carbon mast UniFoil ever built.

The Katana mast borrowed its construction philosophy from traditional Japanese blade forging — an outer layer of extremely stiff high-modulus carbon blended with an intermediate-modulus core for strength. The result was a mast that was super-stiff and fast, with a significantly higher breaking point than pure high-modulus construction alone.

Combined with one-piece construction and a slightly thicker profile than the Race series, the Katana delivered reduced twist and flex under load while remaining one of the fastest carbon masts on the market. The taper-lock mast-to-fuselage connection eliminated play and held the mast securely without relying solely on screws. Slotted holes accepted countersunk titanium hardware for clean fitment, with optional titanium wingnuts for on-the-fly adjustments.

Bolts sold separately.

Katana 750 — The shorter, stiffer option. Less flex, faster response, lower drag. Built for prone surf, performance winging, and speed-focused sessions. 2.03 kg / 4.48 lbs.

Katana 950 — Maximum length for big wave clearance, downwind, and choppy conditions. The longest mast UniFoil produced — built for riders who need room. 2.40 kg / 5.30 lbs.

Hard outside. Strong inside.

Forged Like a Blade

Inspired by traditional Japanese swordmaking — stiff high-modulus carbon on the outside, intermediate-modulus carbon on the inside. The combination delivered a mast that was faster than pure stiffness and stronger than pure speed. A higher breaking point than high-modulus alone, without giving up performance.

Katana Mast

Zero play. Total connection.

Taper-Lock Construction

The Katana's taper-lock mast-to-fuselage connection held the mast in place mechanically — not just relying on screws to take the load. No play, no rattle, no energy lost. Slotted holes with countersunk titanium hardware for clean fitment and optional wingnuts for quick adjustments on the beach.

Katana Mast Taper Lock

Thicker profile. Less twist. More control.

Stiffness You Could Feel

The Katana's slightly thicker chord and profile virtually eliminated twist and flex under hard carving and big-wing loads. Every input went straight to the foil — direct, honest, no delay. One-piece construction meant no joints, no weak points, and a consistent feel from base plate to fuselage.
